Better Thinking. Better Performance. Better Results

“How is it that managers who attend a training session together, with a single trainer and a common program of instruction, can come away with totally opposite judgments and retain completely different elements?”

This is the question that Ned Herrmann grappled with!  Ned Herrmann, the creator of HBDI, was a successful executive at General Electric who had studied the brain and had a strong interest in “diversity of the brain”. As a management development expert, his curiosity and study of the brain (Nobel-prize winning brain research of 1970) the HBDI was developed.

The HBDI is an individual self assessment test that allows individuals to assess their own “Thinking Style” and become conscious of their mental preferences” in order to use them better in both personal and professional life. This understanding allows people to be more at ease with themselves and be more perceptive to the differences in how others might think.

Experience why thinking preferences influence perceptions, communication, decision-making, relationships, negotiations, team synergy and performance and why knowing HBDI will bring higher performance in your organization and at home.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Experience Differences in thinking styles
  2. Understand there are no right or wrong thinking styles
  3. Learn what are some of your “pet peeves”
  4. Discover how thinking styles affect communication and problem solving
  5. Build acceptance and understanding of thinking styles that are different than your thinking style

How attendees will directly benefit

  1. Participants will gain a better understanding of their own thinking style as well as the thinking styles of others.
  2. Participants will build acceptance and understanding of those with different thinking styles.
  3. Participants will have a common language to discuss their differences, help build cohesive relationships and effectively discuss conflicts.
  4. Participants engage with one another and learn areas of their personal profile to “stretch” their thinking to enhance communication.  This allows respect and appreciation for other thinking styles during all aspects of challenges and negotiations at home and at work
  5. Through exercises and coaching participants will be challenged to “Walk in someone else’s shoes” and consider someone else’s interest when communicating and dealing with controversial negotiation situations.
  6. Participants will learn why all thinking styles are needed for productive teams and learn how to build productive and cohesive teams.

HBDI training/coaching is presented in a four 1 day workshop designed to stand alone or as a compliment to other training
